AFRICAN CAT 130’ Mangusta Yacht Sold in Less than Two Months

Northrop & Johnson is proud to announce the sale of the 130-foot (39m) motor yacht AFRICAN CAT. This Mangusta yacht was on the market for less than two months — she was listed in mid-June 2021 — before her sale by Yacht Broker Ed Dickinson acting on behalf of the seller.

The quick sale of this yacht is in part due to her exceptional level of performance, impressive interior and exterior design and exemplary amenities as well as the increased market demand for motor yachts in this range and the expertise of her knowledgeable, diligent broker. The buyer inquired about AFRICAN CAT the day after her listing went live, starting the sales process.

Launched in 2007 by Overmarine, AFRICAN CAT is a member of the renowned Mangusta 130 series. Her exterior was styled by famed yacht designer Stefano Righini. AFRICAN CAT has a beam of 25 feet (7.76m) and a four-foot (1.35m) draft. She is as quick and she is beautiful with a maximum speed of 32 knots. She cruises at 25 knots. AFRICAN CAT was maintained to the highest level since her launch and used sparingly, resulting in low running hours, which ensured her turnkey condition at the time of her sale.

AFRICAN CAT’s interior was designed by Earlcrown of London, who created a chic, contemporary living space through the use of wenge wood, Italian marbles, chrome and Lalique crystal. The yacht’s main deck benefits from large windows that flood the main salon and dining salon with natural light. An oversized sliding roof above the dining salon creates a unique indoor/outdoor experience for guests.

Five lower-deck staterooms aboard AFRICAN CAT sleep 12 guests. The full-beam master stateroom has a beautiful en-suite bathroom with a mosaic hammam. The yacht’s additional staterooms include a VIP, two doubles and a bunked cabin.

The on-deck amenities of AFRICAN CAT include alfresco dining and multiple sunpads.
