Known by many as the sailing capital of the world, the BVI offers sailing schools and yacht charters – both crewed and bareboat – so sailors of all skill levels can find themselves on the open ocean.

When you need to fuel up, there are plenty of places to stop. Between the main islands of Tortola and Virgin Gorda, dozens of marinas and yacht clubs offer fuel, water, and supplies. Get what you need and head back out on the ocean or hop out of your boat and explore what each unique island has to offer.

The BVI’s latest travel protocols make it easier for vaccinated travelers to freely explore the islands, so you can go wherever the sea breeze moves you.

Get a taste of the BVI spirit through the regattas, festivals, and cultural events that take place in the BVI during the winter. For instance, the iconic Nanny Cay Challenge for the round Tortola record will return this year on Nov. 23. Many races and regattas host parties before and after the events for both competitors and spectators to eat, drink, and socialize. The annual BVI Food Fête, a festival celebrating the islands’ unique food scene, is tentatively scheduled for November as well.
