New Destinations Worth the Hype

Posted December 11, 2024 in Travel by Miriam Cain

From cutting-edge destinations to stylish retreats, there’s always something new to discover in the world of yachting. This season, we’re spotlighting two standout developments that are sure to catch the eye of discerning yacht owners and charter guests. In The Bahamas, the much-anticipated Montage Cay promises to redefine luxury with its private island resort and world-class marina, opening in 2026. Meanwhile, Antigua welcomes The Hut Little Jumby, a chic new beach club destined to become a go-to haven for those cruising the Caribbean. Read on for the latest must-visits and why they deserve a spot on your itinerary.

One for All Seasons

Over the next few years, we can expect to see big changes in The Bahamas, with a number of exciting new developments coming to fruition. Opening in 2026, the highly anticipated Montage Cay leads the pack. The 53-acre private island resort in the Abaco Islands is set to become the hottest destination for the superyacht crowd visiting The Bahamas. Whether you’re looking for a place to winter your yacht, or to spend a few days while cruising through the turquoise waters of the Abacos, the property’s protected deepwater marina has 47 slips for yachts up to 110’ (33m). What is more, guests on the island – including those arriving by yacht – have access to a wealth of luxurious offerings, including seven beaches, hotel amenities with several dining options, the Spa Montage, swimming pools, and a fitness center. We suspect Montage Cay will quickly earn a top spot on that Bahamian bucket list. montage.com

A Caribbean Hotspot

Everyone loves an island hideaway, and for many years, The Hut on the U.K.’s Isle of Wight has been a destination of choice for yacht owners and day trippers coming from England’s south coast. Now it’s the turn of the Caribbean island of Antigua to get the same treatment in a slightly more exotic locale, with the opening of The Hut‘s sister restaurant, The Hut Little Jumby.

Opening this fall, the private island beach club and restaurant will no doubt become a firm favorite destination for the superyacht set cruising the Leeward Island chain. The Hut Little Jumby is located off Antigua’s north coast, between the mainland and its sister island, Jumby Bay Island. thehuts.com
