Launched in 2013, the show has continuously grown. Boasting more than 37,000 visitors, a new record, and a 2015 target of 60 superyachts, there was much to see and do at the Palma Superyacht Show. One standout attribute of the Palma Show, according to Simon J. Turner, managing director of Northrop & Johnson Palma is the availability of sailing yachts. “It’s unusual in this world; nearly half the yachts on display are sailing yachts,” he comments.
Northrop & Johnson had some sailing yachts on display at this year’s show, which takes place in the backyard of our Palma office, as well as motor yachts. In addition, our sales and charter brokers from the Palma office and beyond were on hand at the show.
The 110-foot P.Smit classic sailing yacht SILVER SPRAY, the 84-foot high performance sailing yacht Royal Huisman METOLIUS, the stunning 82-foot Nautor’s Swan sailing yacht CONQUISTADOR, the 98-foot San Lorenzo motor yacht LAS BRISAS, the 68-foot motor yacht LOLITA and the new Navetta, built by Vismara in Italy, all were on display with Northrop & Johnson at the show.
According to Turner, “It was a great show this year.” Not only did the record number of visitors create a lively atmosphere with many serious buyers on the docks, but the show set the stage for the upcoming summer charter season in the region, which has become more accessible after the 2013 passage of the tax bill that removed the 15-meter limit for exemption matriculation tax.
Northrop & Johnson is proud to offer some spectacular yachts for chartering Spain and the Balearic Islands, including NATORI and MALVASIA.
