From April 18 to 21, 2024, the Newport Beach International Boat Show (NBIBS) unfolded at the stylish Lido Marina Village, bringing a fresh perspective to the world of boat shows. Over the course of four days, the docks buzzed with excitement as thousands of attendees explored what the show had to offer. This year’s event was a vibrant gathering place for leading brokerages, builders and buyers all on the lookout for their next acquisition. Among the participants, Northrop & Johnson stood out with an impressive lineup of nine yachts on display.
The festivities began on Thursday, April 18, with an exclusive preview day reserved for Northrop & Johnson clients and special guests. This was an opportunity for attendees to get a first look at the largest yachts at the show. The highlight was undoubtedly the 143′ (43.67m) LEIGHT STAR, which boasted a helicopter on its sundeck, drawing eyes and admiration from all angles. The stunning 130′ (39.62m) Westport SERENGETI, available for sale and charter, also garnered considerable attention. The showcase included a diverse range of vessels, including the 74’ (22.56m) Lanzarote VELOCE, the 66’ (20.12m) Hines-Farley J&B, the 63’ (19.2m) Riva PERGOLA, the 63’ (19.2m) Baia PARVINA, the 55’ (16.76m) Ocean Classic LUCKY MARLIN, the 53’ (16.15m) Tiara SUSITNA and the 42’ (12.8m) Tiara TROUBLE.
The event’s atmosphere peaked on Friday, April 19, as Northrop & Johnson, alongside our strategic partners and sponsors, hosted a lively evening and yacht hop at our stand. Guests were treated to a lively setting complete with chic furniture from Perennials and Verge Yacht Design and enjoyed live music as the sun set over Southern California. We were honored to receive support from The File Group and Pelican Hill, which helped make the evening unforgettable, along with Chopin and Gin No. 3 Liquor who provided delightful libations. NetJets upped the ante with their signature cocktail and a swanky cigar roller. Exclusive Resorts offered a unique touch with custom passport engraving, perfect for our jet-setting clientele. Our heartfelt thanks go to our partners from Fairport, Newcoast, IGY Marinas, Tim Davis, Impression by Secrets, Water.org, Legend Yacht Transport, Northern Trust and Starboard Card for joining us.
As the boat show concluded on Sunday, April 21, with the ceremonial blowing of horns at 5 pm, it marked the end of four exhilarating days. We bid farewell to our clients, crew and fellow enthusiasts, grateful for the memories made and looking forward to future gatherings on the docks.
