Bush singer Gavin Rossdale, actors Jon Lovitz and Timothy Olyphant, Today Show host Hoda Kotb and an exclusive group of tennis professionals, including Chris Evert herself, as well as Martina Navratilova, Cliff Drysdale and more were on board for mixing and mingling before picking up their rackets to play on Saturday.
Other events throughout the weekend included two days of pro-celebrity tennis matches and a gala on Saturday evening. During the festivities, $700,000 was raised in an ongoing campaign against drug abuse and child neglect. Included in the total $700,000 is $140,000 that was raised during the live and silent auctions at the Saturday evening gala at the Boca Raton Resort & Club. The monies go toward programs that are funded through the Ounce of Prevention Fund of Florida and through the Drug Abuse Foundation of Palm Beach County.
