DeWitt calls the Academia Mathematical, “an entire watch concept rather than just a watch.” This exceptional timepiece, which was one of the novelties at the 2015 Baselworld event in Basel, Switzerland, tells the time without hands.
Handcrafted and hand assembled by master watchmakers, the face of the timepiece showcases seemingly scattered numerals that actually tell the exact time. Autonomous jumping numbers are illuminated in the watch’s center to indicate time ticking away.
Made of 384 pieces, this intricate timepiece is based on DeWitt’s new Manufacture automatic calibre. The 42.5mm round case is crafted in 18-karat rose gold and is hand finished in-house. It has a beautiful alligator wristband.
