Richard Mille Reaches for the Stars with New Intergalactic Collection of Timepieces
No one appreciates the vast beauty of a star-filled night sky quite like a sailor at sea, when the surface of the water reflects each glittering star, the imposing moon, and mysteriously appearing fog as well. Swiss watchmaker Richard Mille seeks to capture the mesmerizing allure of the heavens at night in four new watches that are collectively known as the RM 07-01 Intergalactics.
Cécile Guenat, Richard Mille’s Creative and Development Director, selected both the darkest and brightest materials to represent the sky in these timepieces. Carbon TPT® forms the top and bottom bezels of the Intergalactics, providing the deep black background. Gold prongs, many holding brilliant white diamonds, seem to set the sky alight in their dazzling patterns.
Among the four timepieces, the RM 07-01 Dark Night employs glittering gold prongs to conjure an abundance of constellations. In the RM 07-01 Starry Night, which features a bracelet crafted from Carbon TPT links, diamonds gleam as bright as stars. In the RM 07-01 Bright Night, a case middle made from microblasted 5N red gold shines like a bright horizon. Lastly, polished 5N red gold pillars support the heavenly firmament of the lovely RM 07-01 Misty Night.
The four Intergalactic models expand the range of RM 07-01 Ladies Automatic timepieces, whose discreet dimensions and ergonomic casebacks make them perennially popular models for women. Each is powered by the in-house CRMA2 movement, a skeletonized automatic caliber that reveals the hours and minutes to its owner.
