In 2015, to honor the 60th anniversary of Palme d’Or award, given annually at the festival, Chopard added to its Red Carpet collection, the Green Carpet collection. Aimed at marrying aesthetics with ethics, this collection promotes sustainable luxury through “The Journey to Sustainable Luxury” project. The Green Carpent collection pays tribute to the beauty of the palm and the award’s exceptional merit. Chopard Artistic Director and Co-President Caroline Scheufele says of the collection, “In 2014, I decided that the Palme d’Or, the most prestigious reward in the international film industry, should from now on be made in Fairmined gold. This year, to mark the 60th anniversary of the Palme d’Or, we have combined the emblem, our jewelry-making expertise and our commitment to sustainable luxury by creating a Green Carpet capsule collection inspired by the Palme.”
The Green Carpet collection comprises earrings, a ring, a stunning timepiece, a bracelet and a long pendant necklace, all paying homage to the palm’s beautiful curse and delicate veins. Each piece is constructed in 18-carat Fairmined gold and set with sustainable, subtly graded marquise-cut diamonds, which have been obtained from the IGC group, a member of Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC).
