The Oyster 825 CHAMPAGNE HIPPY is now available for sale with Yacht Broker Sean McCarter, asking €3,495,000, VAT Paid. This MCA-classed and coded blue-water cruiser is fully refitted and ready for global cruising or charter.
Originally launched as an Oyster 825, CHAMPAGNE HIPPY has a proven long-distance cruising record with six transatlantic crossings and extensive time in the Caribbean, Mediterranean, and Norwegian fjords. Built with an extended transom, she offers increased interior volume, a larger aft deck, and a beach club with storage. Her transforming ladder and hydraulic passerelle allow easy access to the water.
Her performance is well-documented. She completed the ARC transatlantic in 15 days, finishing 13th overall and was the first Oyster to cross the line. Capable of 250nm days under sail, she is designed for efficiency and comfort. At 82’5 (26.2m) with a 3.5m draft, she delivers a strong performance for world cruising.
This yacht has undergone two major refits—a full rebuild during 2018 and 2019 and another extensive refit in 2022, including a new mast, rigging, sails, refreshed interior, and major engineering upgrades. Her cockpit layout is well-protected and optimized for guest comfort and crew efficiency, with a forward dining area and an aft crew work zone, both shaded by biminis and a dodger.
Her bright, modern interior features wraparound deck saloon windows for natural light and views. The main salon includes a dining area for eight to port and a forward-facing navigation station to starboard. The galley is fully equipped with white-grey marble countertops, a Miele induction hob and oven, and top-tier appliances.
She accommodates eight guests in four ensuite cabins. The full-beam master suite aft includes a private study and ensuite. Additional guest cabins include a large double to starboard, a twin to port, and an oversized double forward of the saloon. The crew area forward offers a captain’s double and additional bunks, sharing a dedicated head and shower.
Originally salvaged after sinking in 2015-16 due to a keel failure, CHAMPAGNE HIPPY was rebuilt to MCA Cat 0 standards, passing all surveys and tests. Since then, she has been a highly successful charter yacht and is now fully operational and ready for her next owner.
