Built in 2003 by Danish Yachts, RANGER is the first of the modern J-Class fleet. Enamored with the aesthetic and sailing thrill, owner John Williams built RANGER as a family cruiser, but also as a classic sailing racer.
RANGER is well suited for family life, featuring all the amenities and luxuries of a modern superyacht. Her Glade Johnson-designed, classic interior is “floating,” which creates a quiet ambiance below. Four staterooms aft with en-suite baths accommodate 10 in the owner’s party while up to eight crew can be housed in three separate staterooms forward of the galley. The comfortable, central cockpit leads to the deckhouse — a haven from inclement weather.
On the racing circuit, RANGER — built from the lines of the ”Super J RANGER,” which won the America’s Cup in 1937 — is still showcased in the winner’s circle. Her achievements range from first-prize winner of the 2010 St. Barths Bucket and first-prize winner of her division at Les Voiles de St. Tropez in 2015 to her 2017 second-prize win in the J-Class at America’s Cup Superyacht Regatta in Bermuda and her third-place win at the J-Class World Championship in Newport.
In 2004, RANGER won the “Highest Technical Achievement in a Sailing Yacht” at the ShowBoats Design Awards. She has constantly been upgraded and fastidiously maintained to a superb condition. Sailing yacht RANGER is available for immediate inspection in Palma. With complete crew and a full complement of equipment, RANGER is ready for summer cruising or racing.
