The 65’ (19.8m) Monterey sportfisher TENACIOUS has been sold, with Northrop & Johnson’s Robert Petrina representing the buyer and seller. The sportfisher was last asking $479,000. Known for her sleek design, exceptional build quality, and proven fishing pedigree, this custom cold-molded sportfisher was originally built for legendary golfer and yachtsman, Greg Norman.
Crafted by Dominick LaCombe, founder of Monterey Boats and American Custom Yachts, TENACIOUS boasts a blend of laminated wood and Kevlar construction, delivering superior strength and durability. The sportfisher’s lines are as impressive as her performance, cruising comfortably at 20 knots with a top speed of 25 knots.
A recent refit in 2024 included major engine work, with a complete rebuild of the port engine and servicing to the starboard engine, including new injectors, cooling system service, and valve adjustments. Additionally, TENACIOUS received new Garmin radar and chart plotter, an FCI Watermaker, and Eskimo ice machine, all enhancing her capabilities for long-range cruising and serious fishing.
Designed for the avid angler, TENACIOUS is equipped with the finest fishing electronics, including Furuno Side Scanning Sonar, a custom bait system, and a full-fighting chair. The massive cockpit is complemented by teak decks, covering boards, and custom refrigeration, making her a top contender in any fishing tournament.
TENACIOUS offers a spacious interior layout with four staterooms and three heads, accommodating up to eight guests. The owner’s stateroom includes a queen bed with custom mattress, ensuite head and shower, and stunning varnished teak accents. Two guest staterooms feature upper and lower bunks with ample storage and shared head and shower, while another guest cabin offers additional upper and lower bunks and an ensuite head and shower.
The flybridge is outfitted with custom helm chairs, modern electronics, and a large settee with rod storage beneath.
