THEA 98’ (30.08m) Kong & Halvorsen Yacht Sold

Northrop & Johnson is pleased to announce the sale of the 98′ (30.08m) motor yacht THEA, with Yacht Broker Martin Holmes representing the seller. She was last asking $899,000.

Built in 1979 by Kong & Halvorsen in Junk Bay, Hong Kong, THEA is a classic “Island Gypsy” motor yacht. Between 2012 and 2014, THEA underwent an extensive rebuild in Thailand. Her hull was stripped to the frames, the stern was lengthened, and all wiring, plumbing, and major systems were replaced or upgraded. These changes brought a new level of performance and longevity.

In 2021, she received a fresh new look with a full repaint from navy blue to oyster white. She was relaunched in April 2023 and docked in Malaysia before being brought back to Thailand in 2024, where a professional crew returned her to fully operational condition.

THEA delivers a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere. Solid teak floors and wood veneer walls are complemented by off-white upholstery and removable teak louvre frames. New sofa upholstery (2024) adds a fresh, stylish touch.

THEA’s wheelhouse is a standout space with advanced navigation equipment, joystick and hubless wheel steering, and a dumb waiter from the galley for easy service. A spacious viewing sofa and slimline helm seats ensure comfort underway, while side doors lead to the Portuguese bridge, complete with rudder, engine, and thruster controls. Accommodations are for eight guests across four staterooms, including a full-beam master suite with a king-size bed, leather-topped desk, and flatscreen TV.

Her extended stern features a hydraulic swim platform and storage garage, ideal for tender stowage and water access. The cockpit includes classic varnished teak railings, a fixed bench seat, and easy side deck access. Forward, a U-shaped bench converts to a sunbed, complemented by twin Muir anchor windlasses and generous storage.
