Northrop & Johnson Crew Services Manager Marcy Williams started her career in yachting as a stewardess on PRINCESS DEL MAR, a 105-foot Broward. Marcy has been with Northrop & Johnson for 13 years and does an exceptional job, with the assistance of her crew services team, working with owners and captains to help them with finding the right crew.
In 1989 I was at a crossroad and did not know which way to go. I met two captains and they told me about the yachting industry. I did my research, met with the top crew agent, at the time, and within one week, I was a stewardess on a yacht. I’ve always loved being around people and after working at a yacht management company, it just seemed to be a natural progression.
We are coworkers but more than that, we are family!
Being around a positive atmosphere. Everyone, genuinely, likes to go to work.
The Crew Services department started with just two agents and was like that for a long time. When I became a manager and then the director, I grew the department. We are now five… and growing!
Any of them. I don’t really get the chance to cruise.
I would have a yacht big enough for my family and friends to enjoy and one that can go anywhere.
I would start out in The Bahamas and then I would love to explore…
I am a 55-year-old kid.
Do not under staff and underpay your crew. It will end up costing you more in the end.
The yachting industry is a unique and amazing industry. I love where I am and will stay as long as they will have me.
