JOE FOGGIA JOINS NORTHROP & JOHNSON AS SALES BROKER IN THE FORT LAUDERDALE OFFICE

Joe comes to Northrop & Johnson with more than 30 years of extensive experience in the yachting industry. Throughout the course of his yachting career, Joe has engaged in more than three quarters of a billion dollars in yacht sales and closed more than 20 new construction contracts larger than 37 meters. He is well versed in yacht sales, shipyard ownership and operations, shipyard viability, yacht quality and product development market analysis, contract review and negotiation and yacht construction. Additionally, since 2011 Joe has been an International Superyacht Society Judge. Throughout his years in the business, Joe has traveled extensively to yachting’s popular ports of call and beyond. He has created a vast network of clients, colleagues and friends around the globe. Joe is seen as an insightful resource in the industry has been sited in dozens of articles on the state of the industry throughout the years. He is extremely passionate about his career in the yachting industry and is ready to make his next mark at Northrop & Johnson.

Most recently, Joe started Global Yacht Advisors, LLC, where in his role as principal advisor he specialized in superyacht purchase and new construction, shipyard negotiations and viability analysis, contract and specification review, yacht sale and re-sale strategy, market perception, product development and quality control.

Previously, Joe spent more than 25 years at Christensen Yachts. He started on the shipyard floor at age 15 as a general laborer and in 1990 began transitioned to yacht construction planning and purchasing. From there, Joe moved into project management where he gained a great deal of knowledge about new construction projects, as well as refits. In 1997, he was named Vice President of Operations. In 2001, Dave Christensen named Joe President of Christensen Yachts, a position he remained in through 2014.

During his years at Christensen, Joe successfully guided the shipyard through multiple challenging recessions and a number of yacht production changes and refinements; in addition, he implemented a system of total quality control, all of which helped the yard earn highest ranks in U.S. pedigree and sales for 2012, 2013 and 2014.

In his new role with Northrop & Johnson, Joe will draw upon his previous successes to ensure his clients receive only the best service and care. He looks forward to creating everlasting relationships with the world’s discerning yacht enthusiasts. Joe will be based in Northrop & Johnson’s Fort Lauderdale office.
