I got into the yachting industry by pure luck. I saw a job advertised on Craigslist for an assistant editor at Dockwalk magazine. I applied…and the rest is pretty much history. I spent seven years working as an associate and then web editor, cutting my teeth in the yachting world, then transitioned to N&J in 2014; I couldn’t be happier.
Our people of N&J are what make our company so special. The camaraderie and bond of team members are really rare and very much appreciated as an employee.
My favorite thing about my role as Content Marketing & Events Manager… there is never a dull moment. There’s always something new going on, some yacht show on the horizon, some press outreach to work on, some big listing to put together. It definitely keeps me on my toes and keeps me entertained and excited about what’s to come.
The accomplishment that makes me proudest is not something only I accomplished. It’s the team effort that went into growing N&J into what it is today. When I joined N&J in 2014, it was a much smaller brokerage firm with only a few offices. Today, N&J is one of the top international brokerages. We are continuing to grow day by day. I am so proud to be part of this team; so proud of how far we have come and so excited about where we are going.
It’s hard to pick just one destination. Italy is a top choice for its food and culture. The Caribbean offers tropical paradises at every turn and New England is the quintessential spot for American history. I have loved everywhere I have been lucky enough to travel, but The Bahamas will always have a special place in my heart.
If I owned a yacht, it would be a pocket explorer yacht. I’d name her “SHE’S ABROAD.” She’d be in the 100- to-120-foot range with lots of fun amenities. She also would be able to cruise absolutely anywhere in the world.
If I owned a yacht, you would probably find me in the gym in the early morning hours. I’d follow that by alfresco dining on the bridge deck with my family and then we’d make our way to the beach club to play with the water toys and swim. When my daughter went down for a nap, you’d find me sunning on the sundeck and in the evenings we’d enjoy more alfresco dining then snuggle up for a family movie in the skylounge.
I love activities of all kinds. One of my favorites right now is swimming in the pool with my two-year-old daughter. Going out to dinner with my husband is a top choice and evenings spent with my girlfriends discussing our book club books or traveling definitely are favorites. When I need some me-time (usually every day around 6 am), you can find me on my Peloton bike.
I participated as a balloon carrier in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City for five years. Another fun fact is that I was an indoor cycling instructor for several years while working at N&J.
