NoJo Spotlight: Crew Services Associate Lucie Fox

Northrop & Johnson spotlights Crew Services Associate Lucie Fox who has been with the company for three years. With a wealth of experience and knowledge, Lucie is able to find the right crewmember for the position and find the crewmember their perfect position.

How did you get into the yachting industry and what lead you to where you are today?

I was on holiday in Antigua and met some yacht crew, who told me about this industry that I never knew existed. Two weeks later I was back in London, handed in my notice at my corporate job and packed a bag to go and be a deckhand! I eventually settled in the Mediterranean before moving to the US. With my knowledge and network on both sides of the Atlantic, it was an easy progression to move into crew recruitment.

What do you think makes N&J special?

It sounds like a cliché, but it really is the people. Each person here is talented and passionate about what they do and it shows.

What is the best thing about your job?

I love seeing a determined, hardworking crew progressing through the industry. It’s a wonderful feeling to be a part of their career growth and watch them succeed.

What accomplishment at N&J makes you most proud?

What is your favorite cruising destination and why?

I’ve been very fortunate to have traveled extensively and love to discover new places.  But there’s no place like home and I get back to Europe as often as I can.

If you had a yacht what type of yacht would you have?

I’d have an expedition yacht, so I can get to those places I haven’t discovered yet.

If you had a yacht where would you spend all your time aboard?

Everywhere!

What is one fun/unique fact about yourself?

007 (I won’t say which one) asked me to marry him.  He wasn’t serious but I’m pretty sure that still makes me a Bond Girl.

What is one tip for first-time clients?
