Private Insurance Services Opens European Office

Private Insurance Services, the yachting industry’s leading insurance experts providing bespoke programs to yacht owners worldwide, opened the doors to its first European office on September 1, 2020.

While always able to provide insurance services globally, Private Insurance Services now has a dedicated office that will cater to European clients and provide them with the brand’s suite of insurance products that runs the gamut from standard yacht hull and liability to one-off specialty programs.

Private Insurance Services also is excited to welcome Hugo Jacquot as Directeur Europe in the European office.  Hugo is an esteemed insurance professional with more than a decade of experience. Hugo has a bachelor’s degree in insurance, an accountancy associate degree and a baccalaureate in management specializing in accountancy. In 2009 he joined AXA Corporates Solutions in Paris, France as a deputy underwriter in the yacht team. In 2010 he moved to London to work as an assistant underwriter in their marine team before being promoted to senior controller/deputy team leader of the international programs team in 2012. In 2014, Hugo joined P&I Club Steamship Mutual in London to look after their worldwide yacht portfolio. He quickly moved through the ranks to become syndicate manager. Hugo is exceptionally well suited for his role as Director of European Business with Private Insurance Services due to his extensive yachting industry and insurance experience. His management skills, attention to detail and devotion to client service are key to his role with Private Insurance services. Hugo is based in Antibes and speaks French, English, Spanish and some Italian. He is also an active member of the Young Professionals in Yachting organization and has been a Director of the UK Chapter for several years in the role of Treasurer.

John Gaffney, President and Executive Manager of Private Insurance Services, will oversee European office operations and will travel between the United States and Europe to meet with clients and work hand-in-hand with the European team.
