 N&J NEWS

One of the reasons that Northrop & Johnson is able to deliver to you a monthly Superyacht News video is because Northrop & Johnson now has its own in-house video production team. Headed up by yachting’s best-known digital influencer David Seal, the team includes Yaroslav Ziko, Slava Sakovits, and Maxime Forgin. Each one brings a unique skill set and each one is at the very top of the industry. “We look forward to offering our clients a quality of video marketing that is beyond compare in our industry,” says President and COO Daniel Ziriakus.

To further press this competitive advantage, Northrop & Johnson has partnered with the Yachts For Sale and Charter YouTube channel, which is by far the biggest yacht video marketing platform in the world. This partnership will ensure that Northrop & Johnson and the yachts in their sales and charter fleet will enjoy a superior level of discoverability.

Northrop & Johnson is also expanding geographically with new representation in the strategically important country of Turkey — home to many of the world’s significant yacht builders and also to a host of yacht owners. Deniz Kaymaz has joined the team as a yacht broker with over 15 years in yacht construction and sales and marketing management positions in both the United States and Turkey. He brings invaluable insight and market intelligence to the company as well as a doorway into an important yachting hub.

Northrop & Johnson also welcomes Lina Palmer, who will be based in Barcelona as a crew services associate. Lina enjoyed a long and successful career as a crew member herself before becoming land-based and developing a strong reputation in the crew placement industry.

NEW-BUILD YACHTS

Yacht builders have been extremely busy this March. Riva, the much loved and historic Italian brand, launched the second of their 164’ (49m) flagship model this month. Named FIFTY, the superyacht is painted in a unique “Blue Tinged Shark Grey” color at the Ferretti Group’s Superyacht yard in Ancona, on the east coast of Italy.

The Lloyd Werft shipyard in Germany was the focus of a lot of yachting press this month as the 459-foot (140m) giga yacht SOLARIS was spotted for this first time. This yacht has been under construction for nearly four years and her details have been a closely kept secret. Now that she is out of her shed and visible to the world. We expect to learn more about this yacht in the coming months.

The new UK-based yacht builder Arksen has announced their first sale; it is an 85-foot (25.9m) motor yacht currently known as PROJECT OCEAN. The yacht will be built using recycled aluminum, and fabrics made from recycled plastic bottles will be used in the interior. With a hybrid propulsion system powering her it’s easy to see the direction that this interesting new shipyard is heading.

SALES YACHTS

March continued to build upon this year’s vibrant sales record, with another 49 yachts sold in the last 30 days alone. One of the largest yachts sold was the 164-foot (50m) Oceanco SUNRISE, now renamed FRIENDSHIP. She was on the market for 1,281 days with an initial asking price of $29,250,000 and a final asking price of €14,500,000.

This month 49 yachts left the marketplace and 108 new yachts arrived in it. The 223-foot (68m) explorer yacht RAGNAR is now for sale. This impressive superyacht is a spectacular and unique conversion project from ICON yacht that was launched in 2020 and dominated the yachting press at the time. RAGNAR is asking €69,500,000.

The 160-foot (48.77m) Hakvoort superyacht MIRGAB VI is also now for sale. Built in 2010, this yacht is noteworthy due to her extraordinary high volume and experienced owner, which really shows around the yacht. MIRGAB VI is asking €25,000,000.

Also, now for sale is the 231-foot (70.41m) superyacht FELIX. With an 8,300 nautical-mile-range, a golf range and a private deck for the owner, this is truly an exceptional superyacht. FELIX is asking €38,500,000.

This month there were fewer significant price changes than usual. Two that we want to bring attention to, though, are the reductions of LIFE SAGA and BIG SKY. The 137-foot (43m) Heesen LIFE SAGA had a €2,600,000 price reduction bringing her asking price from €8,900,000 to €5,900,000. The 157-foot (48m) Oceanfast BIG SKY had a $1,000,000 price reduction bringing her asking from $10,900,000 to $9,900,000.

CHARTER YACHTS

On the charter side, we continue to see new yachts joining the worldwide fleet in some very desirable destinations.

In Turkey, and completely new to the charter market, is the 141-foot (43m) SUNRISE, built by the Yildiz shipyard. This yacht has considerable volume for her length, can accommodate 12 guests in five staterooms, and enjoys a beautiful interior design by the renowned Italian firm Hot Lab.

Also new to the world’s charter fleet is the exceptional 180-foot (55m) Amels superyacht REVELRY, formerly known as 4-YOU. She has an owner that is no stranger to the charter market and is available for bookings in The Bahamas, Caribbean and Mediterranean.

Another new addition to the charter is the Italian-designed CINQUANTA 50, built by Admiral Yachts in 2014. This is a thoroughly modern yacht that is totally new to the charter market. She will be based in the Mediterranean. At 116 feet (35.6m) she can accommodate nine guests in four cabins and the main deck features a children’s playroom that can double up as a cinema room.
