My name is Rodrigo Buitrago, I’m part of the MarineMax Superyacht Services since inception and have been with the overall group for 4 years. As a Controller, I support the back-end accounting and financial operations for our U.S. Superyacht entities, partnering with teams across sales, charter retail, charter marketing, crew placement, yacht management, and strategic partnerships
My favorite part of the job is connecting the financial side of the business to the people and operations behind it. I enjoy bringing structure to complex activity, improving visibility, and helping teams make informed decisions with reliable financial information.
What makes the position unique is the combination of technical accounting, systems, controls, and practical problem-solving in an international luxury-marine environment.
My Past
I am originally from Nicaragua and began my career in the banking industry. Before joining MarineMax SuperYacht Services, I built my professional foundation in banking.
My Future
My goal is to continue strengthening the financial foundation of MarineMax SuperYacht Services through scalable processes, timely and accurate reporting, strong internal controls, and thoughtful use of systems and data. I want to keep growing as a finance leader who not only protects the integrity of the numbers but also helps the business make better decisions. On a personal level, I would like to finally take the CPA.
