My Present
Hi, I’m Ilker Tahincioglu, a Yacht Broker with Northrop & Johnson. With over two decades of experience in the yachting industry, I've been involved in various domains, including brokerage and superyacht building, as well as refit and repairs. Holding a solution-oriented mindset, within my role as broker, I’m able to attentively understand individual needs and offer tailored guidance to clients seeking the perfect deal.
My Past
My life's journey has taken surprising yet fulfilling turns. Although I come from a family with a long history in industrial manufacturing within the confectionery sector and real estate development spanning three generations, my course shifted towards the sea and the fascinating world of yachts.
During my formative years, I attended a Swiss boarding school, which not only provided me with a well-rounded, global perspective but also expanded my network. Following that, I pursued my architecture degree first at Northeastern University in Boston and then went to NYIT in New York. This discipline further refined my eye for design and my keen attention to detail.
In 2004, I founded ICT Brokerage, a Turkish company focused on yacht brokerage. Over six fruitful years, the firm earned a reputation for reliability and expertise within the local yachting sector.
My immersion in the yachting industry deepened through extensive experience managing our family-owned shipyard for 18 years. The range of projects I oversaw was diverse, from building carbon-reinforced composite sailboats to 100+' composite superyachts for renowned brands, as well as overseeing 65m Feadship refits. The shipyard also produced classic sailboats and luxury tenders, showcasing our comprehensive skills in the field.
Beyond my professional commitments, the sea has been a constant companion in my life. As a young child, water sports were my playground. Later, I competed in both powerboat racing and sailing regattas, affirming the depth of my maritime passion. "I cannot imagine life without being on or around the sea" perfectly expresses my enduring love for everything maritime.

With my diverse international background and extensive experience in yacht building and the yachting lifestyle, in collaboration with Northrop & Johnson’s exceptional teamwork, I would like to establish a robust portfolio of delighted, repeat clients founded on trust and excellent service.

My Outside-office Life
Outside of work, I prioritize spending time with my family since yachting is an around-the-clock commitment. Luckily, I'm passionate about what I do, which makes it all worthwhile.

• Proud father of my little daughter. She was born during high restriction periods of Covid.
