My Present Hello, my name is James Rayner and I am a Yacht Broker with Northrop & Johnson, spend my time between Monaco and London.
I particularly enjoy helping new owners navigate through exactly what they wish to gain from their yachting experience and helping them get the yacht that is most suited to their lifestyle wishes.
My Past Growing up in Jersey, Channel Islands, life revolved around the water whether it was racing with the local sailing club, canoeing or heading to one of the beautiful beaches for water sports activities.
My working life started in Investment Banking in London until the owner of the J120 I raced suggested that there was a career opportunity within Super Yachting! Subsequently, I completed my Yachtmaster and ended up driving a Challenge 67 for three years, completing more than 40,000 sea miles in locations from the North Sea to the Caribbean. Yacht sales have continued my family's travels with stints living in Asia, the South of France and London.
My Future The destinations, privacy and service make for the most wonderful experiences that simply can’t be recreated by any other holiday. The ability to explore and make these new memories is what drives me to help my clients make the most of what free time has to offer.
With the world striving to become more sustainable, I keep a close eye on the technology that is being developed to help achieve these goals.

My Outside-office Life I have two young daughters and outside of work life revolves around them. I love to help them experience everything they can whether this be playing a new sport, trying new cuisine or broadening their horizons through traveling.
Fast Facts
As a Yachtmaster Ocean Instructor, it was amazing to help students complete their qualifying passages without the use of GPS. Using a sextant with only the sun and the stars is far more exciting!
Hopefully, I will see the England Rugby Team lift the World Cup again!
