My Present
Hi there, I’m Max Daubner, a Southern California-based Yacht Broker with Northrop & Johnson. My role is all about helping clients find, evaluate, and purchase the ideal yacht that aligns with their lifestyle and travel ambitions. Building lasting relationships and sharing in the excitement of my clients’ new adventures on the water is what I enjoy most about my work. Navigating the competitive and ever-evolving yacht market is a challenge I embrace to ensure my clients receive the best options and value. With over 20 years of experience in both yachting and commercial sailing, I bring a well-rounded perspective and a deep understanding of vessels to my role.
My Past
Growing up in San Diego and now residing in Newport Beach, I’ve been immersed in the boating world from a young age, walking the docks and working on boats as soon as I could walk. My passion for the water began as a competitive sailor, which led me to attend the California Maritime Academy, where I trained and worked as a licensed mariner, gaining valuable, hands-on experience aboard some of the world’s largest ships. This background has given me unique insights into vessel operations, performance, and the demands of life at sea.
Throughout the years, I’ve remained deeply connected to Southern California’s boating community, including Balboa Yacht Club, various sailing circles, and angler clubs. My roots and network within these communities allow me to support clients as they enhance their own experiences on the water.
My Future
As I continue my journey with Northrop & Johnson, I’m eager to expand my client network and become the go-to broker for those seeking a personalized approach to finding the perfect yacht that fits their lifestyle.

My Outside-office Life
Outside of work, I stay connected to the ocean and Southern California’s vibrant outdoor scene with my wife and son. I’m often out surfing, paddleboard racing, or participating in local yacht club events, embracing life on the water and enjoying time with others who share my love for the sea.
