My Present
My name is Michael Maximilian Bognier and I’m a Yacht Broker with Northrop & Johnson. Our office is located in the hustling and bustling city of Hong Kong, the perfect stepping stone for many travelers to Asia. With multiple years in the yachting industry, my enthusiasm lies in imparting my expertise to clients and delivering exceptional service that goes beyond their expectations on a constant basis.
My Past
As an Eurasian with roots in both Hong Kong and Italy, I bring a unique perspective that merges cultures from both the East and West. Growing up in a multicultural environment has allowed me to appreciate and embrace diverse perspectives and experiences.
My upbringing in Hong Kong instilled in me a strong work ethic and a respect for tradition and family values. Meanwhile, my Italian heritage has imbued me with a passion for art, cuisine, and a love for the finer things in life.
My first introduction to the sea was through introductory courses at the local yacht club sailing dinghies. This quickly transitioned to into my love for the sea and was complimented by our family acquiring a 50’ motorboat. We spent my early years exploring the vast Hong Kong coastline before upgrading to a 65’ motorboat in the late 2000’s.
Having lived both in the United States and Switzerland where I went to peruse my degree in Hospitality Management from Glion Institute of Higher Education, I picked up the skills that prepared me for the challenging but rewarding industry that hospitality is to bring. However, after a few years, I found the ocean calling my name once again and decided to join Nextwave Yachting where I am now the Sales Manager representing multiple shipyards as their dealers in South East Asia.

To continue making lifetime relationships and ensuring that all my clients are provided with the right boat for their specific needs.
My Outside-office Life
I like exploring hidden gems around the world and taking the road less travelled. My passions include Sport Fishing, Aviation and classic Cars. I currently reside in Hong Kong with my partner Camilla and our 1-year-old Goldendoodle Murphy.
