My Present
My name is Todd Rittenhouse. I've been a full-time yacht broker since 2005 and started with Northrop & Johnson in 2016. I specialize in high-end power and sail transactions, both new and used, across multiple countries and continents. I'm currently a member of the International Yacht Brokers Association and California Yacht Brokers Association.
My Past
Born and raised in Southern California, I grew up in a boating family and spent time on the water sailing and surfing. As a teenager, I worked as a deckhand on an 82' staysail schooner, which solidified my interest in making a living on the ocean. I decided to follow in the footsteps of my father and grandfather. I attended the California Maritime Academy to pursue a career as a merchant mariner, where I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Transportation and an Unlimited Tonnage USCG license. After several years of working aboard tankers, drill ships, and ocean-going tugs, I made the decision to come back to shore and pursue a career in yacht brokerage.
My Future
My future goals are to continue my education in all aspects of brokerage and new builds, understand the industry's ever-changing landscape and keep current with market trends, technological advances, and the evolution of regulatory and environmental compliance. My experience and knowledge are passed along to my clients, helping them to make intelligent decisions.
My Outside-office Life
I enjoy traveling, boating, and golf, sporting events, and time with friends and family.
