Discover Indonesia | Wai Island to Tobelo

Arrive at Sorong Airport in the Northeastern part of West Papua; Indonesia is half of New Guinea. Board the yacht and sail out. There will be time for late afternoon snorkeling the coral reefs of Wai Island.

Cruise to the island of Gam, where you will walk into the primary forest before dawn to view the Red Bird of Paradise performing its mating dance around daybreak. Spend the afternoon in Penemu snorkeling and enjoying other water sport activities.

Alyui Bay is the perfect location for water sport activities, such as kayaking, snorkeling and diving. In the afternoon, visit the interesting, eco-friendly Australian Pearl Farm. The evening barbecue on an uninhabited, beautiful beach will be an exciting experience to remember.

In the morning, set sail for Wayag Island with its astoundingly clear lagoon and rising castles of jungled limestone cliffs.

Cruise westwards across the Halmahera Sea to Bangka Island. Upon arrival go ashore to the village of Bule Bay with a sprawling coconut plantation. Later, snorkel as long as you like at some of the most spectacular sites in the area.

Tobelo, beneath the volcano, is the historic capital of North Halmahera. Explore the remnants of ancient Portuguese fortresses and Dutch colonial churches. The afternoon is reserved for a refreshing swim, and the area offers excellent diving and snorkeling as well.
