Combining the best qualities of the past and future, the stunning 154'1" (47.2m) ASOLARE embodies all of the ancient skills and integrity of traditional boat building with cutting-edge technology both below and on deck. Handcrafted from Douglas fir trees, western red cedar, with a balsa core, divinycell and carbon by Hodgson Yachts in Maine to a design penned by the celebrated Bruce King, ASOLARE showcases stunning classic lines and a traditional navy blue hull. This fast ketch also boasts the latest rigging and sailing technology with virtually all of the yacht’s functions controlled using touch screens and joysticks. Previously named Scheherazade, ASOLARE was delivered in 2003 and maintained in immaculate condition ever since, including a recent 2022 refit. Sailing from one glamorous Mediterranean port to the next during the summer months and island hopping in the Caribbean during the winter, ASOLARE promises exceptional sailing and a host of luxurious amenities to satisfy even the most discerning charter guests.
Like her impressive exterior, ASOLARE’s Andrew Winch Design interiors are a study in traditional craftsmanship. Rare sycamore, walnut and burled walnut woods have been used to elegant effect throughout with the hands of her craftsmen, evident in the more than 350 relief carved seashells on the cabinets and joinery. The main salon is awash in natural light from the bright upper salon, whose wrap-around windows give an atrium feel to the space as well as affording spectacular 180-degree views. There are comfy cream sofas and a relaxed armchair to one side with an adjacent table for elegant formal dining. A few stairs lead to the upper salon, which is the perfect spot for morning coffee and pastries or casual lunches in the banquette-style seating.
ASOLARE welcomes her six guests in three stunning staterooms. Overhead ports and skylights ensure each room is bright and inviting with the same serene ambiance and decorative touches of her salons. The master stateroom spans the entire beam of the lower aft deck and boasts an indulgent king-size bed, built-in sofa, his and hers bathroom and direct stair access to a private seating area on the aft deck. Forward of ASOLARE’s rotunda are two further twin staterooms with side-by-side single beds and generous en-suite bathrooms.
Outside, ASOLARE’s generous decks have ample space for both guests and crew to move around with ease. Two large tables in the main cockpit provide the ideal spot for sheltered al fresco dining. A second cockpit further aft offers integrated sofa seating for sipping cocktails and enjoying the scenery as ASOLARE sails from one fabulous destination to the next.
When she’s not under sail, there’s plenty of space for sunbathing and relaxing as well as making the most of her onboard toys. There are paddle boards, an inflatable trampoline, fishing gear, a snorkeling kit, water skis and a kite surfer to enjoy. Her two Zodiac tenders make it easy to explore the coastlines and tucked-away coves of her sailing grounds.
Among her many stand-out features, perhaps the most impressive of all is her experienced and professional crew of six, who deliver unparalleled service and a sailing charter vacation of a lifetime.
