GALE WINDS’ skylounge is a social hub featuring a bar, a TV and a pool table. Guests can make their way aft to discover the alfresco entertainment deck with a barbeque, outdoor dining, a Jacuzzi and loungers. Her flybridge offers a large covered sunpad area.
Undoubtedly, the highlight onboard is the one-of-a-kind enclosed main deck aft. This creates an extension of livable indoor space while still feeling a connection to the cruising grounds. Two TVs face separate tables and a centrally located bar adds to the fun. This is an excellent entertaining space for guests to easily flow from the exterior to her main salon.
Walking aboard GALE WINDS from the custom-built Opacmare stern passerelle, you step through a centrally located, hinged door into the fully enclosed main deck aft. With large windows flooding the space with natural light, and climate-controlled a/c, guests can enjoy all the pleasures of being outdoors, while indoors. Two large L-shaped settees with dining tables and side tables are located to both port and starboard sides. The space is truly an entertainers delight with two wall mounted outdoor TV’s. A bar forward, to port, features an under-counter beverage refrigerator, icemaker, sink, and custom storage. Access to the port and starboard exterior side decks is available via two glass doors.
Continuing forward from the enclosed main deck aft through French doors, you enter into GALE WINDS’ open and comfortable main salon. Accented by large windows with electric blinds, soft, maple woodwork, mirrored columns, and custom woven wall coverings, the space features a massive, L-shaped chenille sofa with oversized glass coffee table. Two circular swivel chairs and a wall mounted television aft round out the space with overhead speakers providing outstanding sound quality throughout.
The dining area is forward of the main salon, to port, and is separated by a built-in buffet with underlit marble top and plentiful storage for china and flatware. The dining table, which seats 8, was custom built for the space. A beautiful chandelier overhead accentuates the space. Convenient access to the galley is provided by a swing door with frosted glass inlay. Additional built-in wall storage to port is also available for china and stemware. Across from the dining area, to starboard, is a beautiful credenza with marble top currently housing decorative dining items.
Moving forward from the dining area, to starboard, you walk past the above-mentioned credenza to a railing that leads to the staircase to the lower guest staterooms. Directly across from the top of the staircase is additional built-in storage behind the starboard wall. Continuing forward to starboard, is the main guest entrance foyer featuring marble flooring. Across from the entrance door is the staircase to the pilothouse and sky lounge. Continuing forward is an oversized dayhead to port, large full-length crew closet, and pocket door to the galley.
Forward of the pocket door to the galley is the entrance to the main deck, VIP stateroom. Features of the VIP cabin include a centerline king-size bed with drawer storage below as well as plentiful hanging space provided by two lockers, built-in wall cabinetry and drawers, and two nightstands with drawers. To port is a built-in desk with additional drawer storage. Across from the bed is a wall mounted television with drawer storage below. The en-suite is located to port, aft, and features a large, stone shower with glass door, bench and window. A large sink with drawer storage below provides excellent storage. Additional storage is provided by medicine cabinets behind the mirror. The toilet is located adjacent to the sink.
Back outside the VIP stateroom and moving aft is the pocket door to the large L-shaped galley. Moving into the galley, which is incredibly spacious for a vessel of this size, you immediately walk past a centrally located staircase to the lower crew mess and crew cabins. Moving past this staircase you come across a massive Sub-Zero Refrigerator and Freezer as well as double, wall-mounted, Miele ovens, located across from the Sub Zeros. The galley also features a massive Viking cooktop with Viking hood, two large sinks with Insinkerators, dishwasher, ice maker, generous counterspace and overhead cabinet storage, and an additional, full-size, Traulsen refrigerator with double drawer storage. An oversized, walk-in pantry provides even more storage, much to the delight of any chef. The swing door to the dining area is located next to the pantry, and directly across from the pantry is an additional exterior door, providing access to the port side main deck. Two large windows also provide natural light to the space.
Moving on from the main deck, the three additional staterooms are located amidship down the generously sized, curved, guest staircase with built-in handrail, accessed on the starboard side. Once in the lower guest foyer, and moving forward, you enter into the Master Stateroom. Featuring a centerline king size bed with drawer storage below, his and hers nightstands and wall mounted sconces, the space features a couch to port with built-in drawers both forward and aft. Across from the bed is a wall-mounted television with additional drawer storage below. An additional built-in drawer unit is located to starboard, aft, flanking the entrance to the stateroom. To starboard is a built-in desk with plentiful drawer storage. Additional drawer storage is located both forward and aft of the desk, providing plentiful storage space for an extended stay aboard. Two large, cedar lined walk-in closets, located aft, provide even more storage space. Access to the forward his and hers en-suite is located both port and starboard. To starboard is his side, with a large sink, plentiful under counter storage, and medicine cabinet storage behind the mirror. Across from the sink is the toilet, as well as access to a shared shower hallway via a frosted glass door for privacy, leading to the centrally located, modern shower with glass wall and ledge storage. If you continue walking through the shared shower hallway, you pass through another frosted glass door to her side. Featuring the same large sink, toilet, and storage as on the his side, the space also features a built-in makeup vanity.
Walking aft of the Master Stateroom are two closets to port. One closet houses a stacked Miele washer and dryer while a second closet provides guest toiletry and cleaning product storage. A built-in lower cabinet on the aft wall provides additional storage.
The port aft guest stateroom features a free-standing king size bed with nightstands. A built-in desk and wall-mounted TV are located across from the bed. Two closets, one with shelves and the other for hanging clothes, provides great storage space. Additionally, two sets of built-in drawers with cabinet storage above add to storage capabilities. The en-suite is located forward, with full length, glass door shower, and single sink with excellent storage both below and behind the mirror in medicine cabinets.
The starboard aft guest stateroom features a queen size bed with drawer storage below and built-in nightstands with drawer storage on both sides of the bed. Two sets of built-in drawers and a desk are also located across from the bed with cabinet storage above. Two full size closets are located aft, one with shelves, providing ample storage for guests. The en-suite, located forward, mirrors the en-suite of the port aft guest cabin. An additional shelved closet is located inside and behind the entrance door of the cabin, providing storage for guest linens.
Back in the entrance foyer on the main deck and heading up the staircase you enter into the spacious Pilothouse, featuring large windows for excellent visibility and L-shaped settee with table and built-in lower shelving to port. Significant storage is provided under the helm. Built in chart drawers and plentiful counterspace are located to starboard with additional built-in cabinet storage moving aft. A door to the sky lounge provides privacy for guests when underway.
Moving aft into the full-beam sky lounge, which is currently set up as a game room, you find a large pool table bathed in natural light thanks to large windows. A massive 75” wall mounted television and built-in bar with under counter refrigerator, ice maker, sink, and bottle storage provide endless entertainment. Two loose chairs are located below the television, providing seating. Additionally, to starboard and aft, is additional built-in storage. The space could easily be converted back to a more traditional sky lounge, simply by removing the pool table and replacing with new furniture.
The bridge deck aft is accessed through an offset to starboard exterior door from the sky lounge. To port, is a large U-shaped dining table for eight with both settee seating and loose chairs. To starboard is a built-in bar with sink and grill, as well as under counter storage for the deck crew. A large, almost full beam, awning can be deployed over the space, providing shade on the sunniest of days. A centrally located Jacuzzi with teak steps is further aft, with tender and toy storage aft, as well as the large tender crane.
Steps to the upper flybridge are located to starboard. Featuring a massive, covered, lounging area with plentiful storage below, helm station with three Stidd chairs, and wing stations to both port and starboard, the space is an excellent spot to take in views while underway. A sliding hatch to the pilothouse provides easy access for the crew when switching between helm stations. Additional storage is located beneath the helm station, with access provided via cabinets under both wing stations.
Back inside the galley and taking the crew stairs down, you enter into the crew mess. A large L-shaped settee with table are located to starboard, as is a crew galley with sink, counter space, and undercounter refrigeration. A stacked Miele washer and dryer is also located in this space. A pullman berth with privacy curtain is located on the forward wall, above the crew table, providing space for an additional, temporary, crew member. A large closet for storage is also located in the crew mess. The large captain’s cabin is furthest aft in the crew area and features a single berth and built-in desk area. A private en-suite with shower and ample storage rounds out the cabin. Two over/under berth cabins with drawer and closet storage provides ample storage. Each crew cabin has its own head with escape hatch located in the shower, bringing in natural light.
Back on the main deck exterior, side decks begin at the main deck aft, and are accessed via two glass doors on both port and starboard sides. The main side decks feature teak decking with varnished cap rails, until you reach the bow, where the decks become non-skid. An additional boarding gate is located aft, on both port and starboard sides, providing a total of 4 side entrance gates, with the main guest entrance being located amidship on the starboard side. The bow features two built-in seating areas for guest enjoyment while underway.
Access to the engine room is provided by a starboard transom door, accessed by walking down a staircase just outside the main deck aft hatched door onto the swim platform. Entering through the door you enter into the spacious lazarette down a set of steps. One Atlas shorepower converter and two Sea Recovery watermakers are located in this space, as is toy storage. The engine room features 2 x MTU 16V 2000 M91 engines, Kohler generators, and an additional Atlas shorepower unit. GALE WINDS features Side-Power zero-speed stabilizers, a Flow Marine 20-ton chilled water system, and a Headhunter sewage system. The spaces are easy to maneuver, and equipment is easily accessible.
