GX Superyachts 42 RPH Hull #2 represents a bold new chapter in forward-thinking yacht design. Advanced hybrid propulsion, clean energy integration, and luxurious craftsmanship come together with striking precision. Built by GX Superyachts and developed by the hybrid experts at Greenline Yachts, whose portfolio includes over 1,000 hybrid vessels, this 42.1-meter yacht is set for delivery late 2027 and brings a transatlantic-capable, zero-emission yachting experience to the 40-meter class.
At her core is a cutting-edge hybrid propulsion system that allows for zero-emission cruising, enabling silent navigation at 6 knots with a range of up to 100 nautical miles under electric power alone. For longer passages, she seamlessly transitions to diesel propulsion and delivers a transatlantic range at 12 knots, while maintaining a top speed of 15 knots. Integrated solar panels support up to 27kW on this Raised Pilothouse (RPH) version, storing clean energy in a high-capacity lithium battery system that enables completely silent, fossil fuel–free anchoring for up to 48 hours. This setup results in a 55% overall energy saving through optimized air conditioning and other systems, along with a significant 40% reduction in emissions compared to conventional yachts.
Her hull, designed by naval architect Francesco Rogantin, features a smart displacement form optimized for maximum hydrodynamic efficiency and long-range performance. The RPH model offers an increased gross tonnage of 353GT, allowing for more interior volume while maintaining sleek, contemporary exterior lines by Marco Casali of Too Design. The flybridge is expansive and elegantly styled, in contrast to the GX42 Coupe’s sculpted superstructure and retractable solar-paneled roof. The result is a yacht that balances strong visual presence with genuine performance advantages and responsible cruising credentials.
Interior design by Casali continues the theme of intelligent luxury. A seamless progression from the main saloon to the upper decks is complemented by top-tier materials and finishes: Antonio Lupi porcelainware, Dornbracht fixtures, Foglizzo leathers, Cadorin natural wood flooring, and furnishings by Poltrona Frau and Rugiano. Every detail is carefully selected for both comfort and sustainability. Accommodation is configured for 10 guests in five spacious cabins, with a dedicated crew of eight to ensure smooth operation. The layout is fully customizable to meet individual owner preferences. She also features a stunning seawater pool for alfresco enjoyment.
