Introducing the 1994 Hines-Farley J&B, the first-ever Hines-Farley built, designed to be the best and fastest sportfisher available. Crafted from fiberglass composite, Airex, and Kevlar, this Convertible sportfisher model showcases the Hines-Farley commitment to performance and solidity, reaching speeds of over 40 knots while ensuring an unbelievably solid ride.
Built by Sonny Hines in Suffolk, Virginia, the Hines-Farley sportfishers, including J&B, were ranked as the no. 1 sportfishing boat in the world by Robb Report in 2003. Constructed with Airex foam laminated between E-glass and Kevlar encapsulated vinyl resins, these sportfishers boast a completely custom and handcrafted interior with exotic woods and veneers.
Equipped with a Seakeeper 9 gyro stabilization unit, Cat-360 joystick control for docking, and a GPLINK remote monitoring and security system, the J&B ensures ease of maneuvering, safety, and efficient monitoring of critical systems.
In 2012, J&B underwent a comprehensive refit at Jarrett Bay's yard in North Carolina, making her the largest and fastest Hines-Farley ever. The refit included an extension by three feet, repowering with new C-32 Caterpillar engines, remodeling the interior, adding air-conditioned mezzanine seating, a massive cockpit, custom bait tank, tuna tubes, and a new Release fighting chair. The flybridge and engine room were reconfigured, and the entire yacht was repainted with Alexseal paint.Unique features of the J&B include the Cat-360 system with joystick and bow thrusters, typically found in Pod boats.
J&B's interior is a well-thought-out space featuring cherry wood, custom furniture, and large windows for natural light. The galley offers custom Sub-Zero and Kitchen Aid appliances, while the main salon includes a comfortable L-shaped couch, entertainment area, and a custom-built table by Release Marine.
Accommodating six guests in three cabins, the owner's stateroom features a walkaround queen bed, en-suite head, and vanity. The VIP stateroom offers a walkaround queen bed, and the guest stateroom features oversized upper and lower bunks, all with en-suite heads.
The exterior styling of the J&B is a blend of classic design and modern features, with cream-colored paint, teak accents and a full tower. The deck spaces include a functional and comfortable cockpit for fishing, a well-appointed flybridge with custom seating, and a spacious foredeck with zero obstructions.
J&B stands as a highly customized and meticulously maintained sportfishing boat. With her exceptional design, performance, and recent refit, J&B is ready for new adventures on the water.
The J&B was completely stripped down and rebuilt at Jarrett Bay Boatworks in North Carolina. Marc Phillips who originally helped build the boat was employed as project manager to oversee the complete refit of this timeless sport fisher bringing modern technology and machinery to the Classic Sonny Hines design. Â
