JULIA is a beautifully crafted Nordia 58 sailing yacht, custom-built by Van Dam Shipyards in the Netherlands and delivered in 2001. Designed as a larger version of the Nordia 55, she offers greater internal volume, a wider stern, and expanded storage and deck space aft. Her traditional lines are complemented by a modern touch, making her a safe and reliable world cruiser built to CE Category A-OCEAN standards, ideal for worldwide cruising.
JULIA features teak surfaces and a well-protected center cockpit with a steering console. The layout is designed for ease of handling, with hydraulic sheet winches, Reckmann hydraulic furling headsails, and an in-mast furling system. The Hall Spars aluminum mast and boom complete her sloop cutter rig, ensuring excellent sailing performance. For added convenience, she is equipped with a bow thruster, stern davits for tender storage, and a telescopic gangway.
Step inside, and you’ll find a spacious, semi-raised saloon midships bathed in natural light from the large hull portholes, overhead hatches, and surrounding windows. The interior is finished in warm cherrywood with teak and holly floorboards. The saloon features a comfortable seating area with a dining table to port and a chart table to starboard, connecting to the fully equipped galley, which is located along the passageway leading to the master cabin.
JULIA’s accommodations are thoughtfully designed for up to six guests. The master cabin aft boasts a large double bed, seating on both sides, ample hanging lockers, and an ensuite head with a shower. Forward, two guest cabins i.e., one with double bed to portside and a single bed to starboard, both with removable upper bed. A removable partition wall allows these cabins to transform into one larger space if needed. The guest cabins share a spacious head and shower located forward. This flexible arrangement, combined with abundant storage space, ensures comfort and practicality during extended voyages.
JULIA’s exceptional build quality is matched by her performance and versatility. She is easy to sail and ideal for shorthanded cruising, making her a perfect choice for an experienced couple or family. Over the years, her owners—experienced yachtsmen who previously owned two smaller Nordia’s—have always maintained her in good condition. She has undergone regular servicing, including a full rig service in 2016, a new set of cruising sails in 2018, and hull topsides wrapped in green foil in 2020. Annual haul-outs for hull service and checks have kept her in good condition.
