METOLIUS was designed as a high-performance sailing yacht that could suitably sail all oceans regardless of the conditions while providing the comforts and amenities of home. The collaboration of the Royal Huisman Shipyard, German Frers and interior design by Peter Beeldsnijder resulted in a yacht that fulfilled the design brief flawlessly. The sailing yacht has proven her reliability and comfort traveling from the cold and boisterous North Sea, to ghosting through the doldrums, from the varied Alaska breezes to Cape Horn, the Antarctic, the wild Southern Ocean to the trade winds and the Caribbean and mixed conditions of the Mediterranean.
The yacht is a true offshore voyager, with an easily driven hull form and a powerful sailplan engineered to be easily managed by a minimal crew. METOLIUS features a Rondal hydraulic furling spar, headstay and staysail stay as well as hydraulic winches. The sailing yacht has a functional and simple deck layout with a well-protected cockpit.
METOLIUS showcases a timeless interior with an open-plan layout that enhances the sense of space. The interior detailed in varnished teak with an ambiance that exudes elegant warmth with exceptional functionality. The main salon provides the ideal retreat after a day of sailing and her well-equipped galley allows for easy food preparation.
The sailing yacht’s accommodations make her ideal for family living. The yacht’s staterooms include a double-bed master suite, two staterooms with upper and lower berths, and separate crew quarters and head, all crafted to the highest Huisman standards.
METOLIUS has had the benefit of outstanding preventative maintenance, and continual refitting. Most recently many upgrades 2019 and in spring 2020 a mast paint and full rig overhaul, underwater service, interior upgrade and many more maintenance and service items.
