The 2011 Viking sportfish MOONDANCER is a beautifully-maintained vessel, fully equipped for extensive tournament fishing. She boasts several state-of-the-art features that enhance her functionality and luxury. Among her top-of-the-line equipment is the Sea Recovery Aqua Matic freshwater maker that ensures a constant clean water supply. Additionally, the boat features a Side-Power electric bow thruster, an Electro-Hydraulic Rudder (VIPER) steering system, and a Cruisair air conditioning system for optimal comfort. For a touch of ambiance, MOONDANCER also has eight Ocean LED underwater lights, which add a stunning visual effect when cruising on the water. The sportfish yacht also features a Seakeeper Gyro Stabilizer.

Guests can access the yacht’s interior through a convenient sliding door. The main salon is luxurious, with designer furnishings, custom window treatments, valances, and elegant overhead LED lighting. On the port side of the salon, an enclosed electrical control panel and a day head can be found. The starboard side features an L-shaped sofa and a U-shaped sofa, accompanied by a table. An aft-facing sofa occupies the center of the main salon, while multiple cabinets and a TV lift cabinet can be found on the port side. Moving forward from the main salon, the galley area boasts a stunning granite counter, under-counter Sub-Zero refrigeration and freezers, numerous drawers and stowage lockers, a double sink, a Kenyon 4-burner electric stove, a Sharp microwave, and a Kenmore trash compactor, making for a practical and sophisticated kitchen space.

MOONDANCER comfortably welcomes eight guests in four staterooms. The master stateroom is located forward of the galley and main salon below on the port side and comprises a queen-sized bed with storage under it. There is ample storage space via closets and drawers. Custom wallpaper adorns the walls and custom décor can be seen throughout. There is a flat-screen TV and sound system for entertainment. The ensuite master head is equipped with a marine toilet, granite vanity, basin and mirror, towel bar, cabinets and shower with satin nickel shower fixtures and faucet. One guest stateroom is forward the master stateroom on the port side and consists of double bunks, a closet, and flat-screen TV. The second guest stateroom is forward, with an island bed equipped with storage under. There is also a flat-screen TV, cabinets and a closet. The third guest stateroom or crew cabin is on a lower level aft of the master stateroom on the port side. The crew stateroom comprises double bunks, a mirror, a closet, and a flat-screen TV. An ensuite bathroom accompanies each cabin.

The 70 illustrates a familiar resemblance to its siblings, the Viking 82 and Viking 76. The aggressively raked stem features better than eight feet of freeboard forward and is designed to make small work out of those big-head seas typically encountered offshore when hunting marlin. Likewise, the freeboard subtly indicates the significant headroom beneath the flush foredeck. The sheer line is pure sweetness that tapers aft to three feet of freeboard in the cockpit for ease of releasing and tagging billfish and tuna.

Curves also highlight and accentuate the 208-square-foot cockpit with its observation mezzanine that provides ample stowage, multiple freezers, an insulated refrigerated drink box in the salon entrance step, plenty of drawers, and engine room access. The lower cockpit provides a sizeable fish box, stowage compartments and a transom fish box/live well.

The tournament-proven center console helm on the flying bridge delivers acute visibility to each compass point. Like many Vikings, the 70 shares a refined running surface with a convex deadrise shape with sharpened waterline sections to showcase stability and seakeeping ability. The convex deadrise adds curvature and form to the hull bottom and the wide beam, which carries well aft. In addition to supplying considerable buoyancy and lift, re-entry at flank speeds will be soft, enhancing a comfortable dry ride.
